- Non-Typical Deer Allows Resident to Capture Photos while He Browses
While visiting a friend’s house, a resident of St. Clairsville OH came upon an unexpected sight.
At around 7:30 pm, there was a buck deer with unusual antlers browsing with another handsome buck in the side yard. The peculiar antlers looked like an ornamental head piece.
The St. Clairsville resident was able to catch some cell phone pictures without disturbing the deer.
These particular deer had become accustomed to people because they regularly browse in yards throughout the neighborhood.
The resident later returned with a camera to catch some stunning photos of the bucks eating in a field near the original sighting.
Upon investigation, it was learned that the unusual deer had what is known as drop tines. A typical set of antlers is symmetrical. Non-typical antlers are not the same on both sides.
This small non-typical deer had 3 drop tines, which is especially desirable to the local hunters. It was learned that many residents in the area have had their eye on this buck for a few years.
While some are fascinated by the prospect of having those antlers mounted on their wall, others prefer the exhilaration that comes from the serendipitous occasions that nature sometimes provides.
Maybe this little guy will survive another hunting season and continue to delight his admirers when he shows up for his evening snack.
