By simply freeing herself of overthinking her running times and performances, she allowed herself to be and has improved significantly since last year. She cut her running time by over 2 minutes per mile!
Natalie O Barlatier is part of an organization Black Girls Run. Truth Freedom and Health means that this group of people can run without feeling left behind.
“We encourage the black community of women to get out and feel safe, included and confident in running”. “This helps people with their health mentally and physically.”
Katy from Girls on the Run says that Truth Freedom and Health are essential to providing access for all people to help them improve their health by running.
Maddie from Yerbe Mate Drinks feels that Truth Freedom and Health empowers people to take the time for themselves, whether that means taking a nap, working out, or meditation.
“It’s ok to take care of yourself in whatever way feels right to you.”
The beautiful thing about this race, is that this movement is fundamentally intrinsic to events like these.
All of these women understand that Truth Freedom and Health is a movement, and not about an entity or dialectic.
They have all expressed the essence of what running, health, community, and races like this mean to our society at large.
